Defensive Driver Training

Control Risks’ two-day defensive driver training course introduces attendees to the threats and risks faced when driving in high-risk environments, road craft, journey planning considerations, vehicle preparation and maintenance, and evasive manoeuvring. The course combines classroom-based knowledge transfer sessions and practical driver training.

Course syllabus:

  1. Forward planning, observation, vehicle positioning and anticipation

  2. Progressive driving, braking and cornering techniques

  3. Rules of the road and dealing with road rage

  4. Speed and hazard awareness

  5. Dealing with adverse weather and skid control

  6. Night driving

  7. Evasive manoeuvres including ramming techniques and high speed turning
