Armed Guard Cash-In-Transit

This course teaches the safe use of firearms along with batons and handcuffs, defensive tactics and operational planning. The course is also designed to train security guards to work in the collection, transfer and/or delivery of cash and valuables. Must have completed the 6 units from current CPP20218 Certificate II in Security Operations.

Course syllabus:

  2. Manage conflict and security risks using negotiation

  3. Maintain operational safety and security of work environment

  4. Determine and implement response to risk situation

  5. Coordinate monitoring and control of individual and crowd behaviour

  6. Coordinate provision of quality services to clients

  7. Gather, organise and present security information and documentation

  8. Maintain work health and safety

  9. Control persons using batons

  10. Restrain persons using handcuffs

  11. Inspect and test cash-in-transit security equipment and rectify faults

  12. Implement cash-in-transit security procedures

  13. Load and unload cash-in-transit in secured and unsecured environments

  14. Carry, operate and maintain revolvers for security purposes

  15. Carry, operate and maintain semi-automatic pistols for security purposes

  16. Control security risk situations using firearms
